For the first time in the history of the FIFA World Cup, the world's biggest football tournament will be hosted on African soil. between 11th June and 11th July, 32 teams will contest 64 matches in a festival of football all competing for the right to be world champions. South Africa are the hosts and World Cup 2010 is coming to us, here in Cape Town!! We cant wait ...
There will be 9 host Stadiums for World Cup 2010.
Cape Town Stadium at 'Green Point' will host 5 group games, a second round game, a quarter final and a semi final! Making Cape Town the perfect place to set up base for the World Cup experience!!
In April 09 the stadium construction was well underway:
On Monday 14 December, Cape Town took 'the keys' to the stadium. At the handover mayor Dan Plato said "Cape Town stadium will become one of the world's sporting landmarks''. Indeed he is right, the stadium looks iconic when lighting up the town at night:

The 2010 World Cup Draw was on Friday 4th December 2009, here at Cape Town's International Convention Centre and we now know the groupings for next summer:
